Tania opened the Active Me Fitness studio in 2016 as a way to make fitness a way of life and accessible to everyone.  Her desire is to have all students feel a sense of belonging and community when they set foot in the studio.  Tania's passion shines through in all of her classes and she loves knowing that she is making a difference in people’s lives by helping them achieve their fitness goals.  Being a Ballroom and Latin Dance instructor since 2001, Tania developed her signature cardio class, “Dancercise” to lose weight after the birth of her 3rd son in 2011.  Having already been certified in Zumba levels 1 and 2 she is now furthering her education in pilates and martial arts to further enhance her expertise in pilates and Cardio Kickboxing.  When this busy lady is not at the fitness studio or the adjoining dance studio you can find her spending cherished time hiking, boating and sledding with her four sons and husband, Alex.  Tania is best described as passionate, dedicated, caring and family oriented (which is why you will soon see an amazing lounge/playroom for your children at the studio!)  This seems fitting as her favourite quote is, “Enjoy life today.  Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.”  While she loves any dance related class, she also really enjoys a good ab workout and getting rid of life’s stresses by punching and kicking something (Let’s hope she doesn’t get her classes mixed up!)  Tania has carefully selected the studio’s fitness programs so that after their classes students will feel amazing, knowing that they have done something to make themselves healthy and stronger in mind, body and spirit.

Amanda

Amanda is best described as shy, funny, and caring.  She started practicing yoga some 17 years ago to overcome stress and physical pain. She loves flow classes, using the poses to create a moving meditation.  Amanda  began teaching to share her love of the practice and to help others feel the same joy as she does each time she moves through a practice.  Her favourite pose is wild thing which to her represents strength, grace and vitality.  She received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2013 and has been teaching ever since.  Amanda also obtained her CANFITPRO Fitness Instructor Specialist and Bellyfit certifications in 2012 and her Urban Poling Certification in 2015.  From her classes, Amanda wants people to take away a sense of wellness and community.  When she’s not working Amanda loves to spend time being active with her family and fur babies. In the near future Amanda will be advancing her knowledge and practice of yoga by attending another 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and eventually plans on studying Ayurveda, various forms of yoga and obtain her 500 hour papers.  One of her favourite quotes: “The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph”.

Tania

Robyn's passion for movement and  teaching fueled her journey and continues to nurture every Pilates class that she teaches.  Inspired by how people feel after class and the ability to make a difference in people's lives, she opened Pendulum Pilates Studio on Lake Avenue in Carleton Place in 2005. Robyn continually learns and grows with workshops and conferences and hopes to continue to offer workshops in Pilates for everyone from children to mature clients.  Her training is in classical Pilates for reformer, cadillac, chair, barrel and mat work.  She is creative and tends to put a contemporary twist on the traditional work.  She has been described as patient, nurturing, and encouraging.  What she would like people to take home from her classes are:  a motivation to be consistent with this work, a deeper body/mind connection, and an overall sense of well-being.

Kara

Kara is best described as driven, loyal and dependable.  Come and discover her energetic Zumba classes for yourself and see how this social butterfly will drive your cardio levels to new heights.  If you’re lucky you may get to explore her favourite dance move, the hula hoop!  Kara’s love for Zumba started right here at Tania and Rick’s Dance Studio some four years ago.  Falling in love with the energy and freedom from the class she obtained her level one Zumba certification in 2014 and holds her official ZIN membership.  Not stopping there, Kara has plans to get certified in different types of Zumba to be able to offer her participants even more variety.  When she’s not at the studio you will find Kara spending time and enjoying life with her children and husband.  Kara's love of teaching is driven by seeing people leave her class happy after a fun and amazing workout.
